Natural, Non-toxic, Anti-microbial, Persistent Kill

This odorless, water-based, safe, non-toxic, naturally occurring molecule forms an invisible anti-microbial shield inhibiting the growth of harmful and foul odor-causing microbes, germs, bacteria, mold, fungi, and viruses. It does not leave any soap scum or residue.

The naturally derived Chitosan from crab shells has been modified to create a non-toxic, hypoallergenic (wont cause allergic reactions) antimicrobial solution for surfaces and textiles, porous and non-porous.  Unlike other chemical disinfectants, Chitosan is a safe, effective, biodegradable solution that inhibits growth of mold, fungi, bacteria and viruses for an extended amount of time when applied properly.  This saves you time and money by protecting surfaces and textiles rather than clean constantly.

The key to reducing the spread of viruses is CLEAN and PROTECT.  Before application of Chitosan, all surfaces must be cleaned, de-greased, disinfected.  Chitosan, applied on a clean surface with electrostatic sprayer or fogger will inhibit growth and protect the surface for 2 to 4 weeks with on-going kill persistence.

If applied as a liquid spray and wipe-on cloth, expect 1 to 2 weeks of performance.  One gallon applied with electrostatic sprayer or fogger (at 2-microns) can typically cover about 6,000 sq. ft.

The nontoxic, hypoallergenic antimicrobial leaves no residue on treated surfaces, making it totally safe for your employees and customers alike.  For daily cleaning, we recommend Bioesque Solutions for your facility remains chemical free and your staff avoids using toxic, harmful chemicals.  Bioesque will NOT remove Chitosan antimicrobial protection.

Scientific Information

Chitosan, a versatile hydrophilic polysaccharide derived from chitin, has a broad antimicrobial spectrum to which gram-negative, gram-positive bacteria and fungi are highly susceptible.

CDC reports that gram-negative bacteria cause infections including pneumonia, bloodstream infections, wound or surgical site infections, and meningitis in healthcare settings. Gram-negative bacteria are resistant to multiple drugs and are increasingly resistant to most available antibiotics. These bacteria have built-in abilities to find new ways to be resistant and can pass along genetic materials that allow other bacteria to become drug-resistant as well. Chitosan is proven to kill gram-negatives bacteria.

Gram-negative infections include those caused by KlebsiellaAcinetobacter, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, and E. coli., as well as many other less common bacteria.

What is Chitin?  It s a polysaccharide of animal origin found abundantly in nature and characterized by a fibrous structure. It forms the basis of the main constituent of the outer skeleton of insects and crustaceans like shrimp, crabs and lobster.

Chitosan binds to the cell walls of microorganisms, suppressing microbes through a nontoxic mode of action. Alternatively, most antibiotics and bactericidal agents work through a toxic mode of action.

Technology:
